Job Summary
As a Draftsman at the DSR Numan Plant, you will prepare, modify, and maintain accurate technical drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation to support plant-wide engineering, maintenance, construction, and installation activities. Working closely with engineers, designers, and contractors, you will ensure that all technical drafts strictly comply with approved specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Design Execution: Prepare, develop, and modify detailed technical drawings, layouts, schematics, and equipment designs using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software.
Accuracy & Quality Review: Review engineering drafts to verify accuracy, completeness, and strict compliance with approved project specifications, industry codes, and safety standards.
Revisions & Plant Support: Update drawings to incorporate engineering changes, modifications, and requirements for ongoing plant maintenance, construction, and equipment installations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineers, designers, and contractors to clarify design requirements, resolve drawing-related issues, and ensure seamless project execution.
Site Inspections & Measurement: Conduct physical site measurements and inspections to confirm that technical drawings accurately reflect current plant conditions.
Documentation & Version Control: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, strict version control, and organized archives of all engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Compliance & Safety: Enforce data confidentiality, maintain clean work areas, and ensure all drafting and design activities align with company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience
HND/B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology or a related discipline.
Relevant professional certification or technical drafting qualification will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CADD software.
Relevant experience in engineering drafting, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial or plant environment.
Good understanding of engineering drawings, layouts, dimensions and technical specifications.
Knowledge of applicable engineering, construction and safety standards.
3-5 years experience in this role. Experience in manufacturing is an added advantage.
