**Job Title:** Factory Cost Controller & Fixed Assets Accountant

**Reports To:** Head of Finance / Finance Manager

**Location:** Production Facility

**Job Summary**

The Factory Cost Controller & Fixed Assets Accountant leads cost control, asset accounting, budget tracking, and internal audit support for the manufacturing facility. This hybrid role combines technical cost accounting and fixed asset management with financial analysis and operational controls to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Cost Control & Financial Analysis**

• **Daily Cost Tracking:** Monitor and analyze daily operational expenditure across slaughtering, processing, packaging, and distribution to determine accurate unit production costs and order-level margins.

• **Variance Analysis:** Identify, investigate, and reconcile variances between standard and actual costs across raw materials, direct labor, and utility consumption.

• **Operational Partnerships:**

• Partner with the **Engineering Team** on monthly reviews of energy consumption and plant maintenance expenditure.

• Collaborate with the **Warehouse Team** on monthly inventory reconciliations, stock write-off analyses, and raw material tracking.

• **Reporting & Margin Analysis:** Prepare monthly factory cost reports, gross margin evaluations, SKU-level profitability assessments, and landed cost calculations.

• **Budgeting & Forecasting:** Support annual budgeting and rolling monthly forecasting processes for the plant, ensuring financial projections align with production schedules and sales targets.

• **Process Efficiency:** Recommend actionable strategies to optimize energy usage, labor deployment, and overall supply chain management.

**Fixed Asset Accounting & Control**

• **Asset Register Management:** Maintain and update the factory's sub-fixed asset register to ensure 100% accuracy and completeness.

• **CAPEX Management:** Partner with Production and Engineering leads to evaluate capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements, preparing business cases and securing formal approvals.

• **Asset Lifecycle Management:** Oversee the complete lifecycle of factory assets—including capitalizations, depreciation calculations, disposals, write-offs, and retirements—in strict accordance with internal control policies.

• **Verification & Audits:** Lead periodic physical verification and valuation exercises with internal and external auditors and valuation specialists.

**Requirements & Qualifications**

**Education & Certifications**

• **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• **Professional Certification:** ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification is a strong advantage.

**Experience & Technical Expertise**

• **Work Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in cost and asset accounting, ideally within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.

• **Cost Accounting Expertise:** In-depth knowledge of product costing, Bill of Materials (BOM), manufacturing overhead allocation, and variance analysis.

• **Systems & Software:** Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/Navision) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., complex formulas, financial modeling, pivot tables).

• **Analytical Capability:** Proven ability to translate complex operational and financial data into strategic, actionable business insights.
